The Latest
So the other day I was folding wash in the laundry room when Ruthie decided she needed to help me. She took a few pieces and brought them to the living room where she proceeded to play. Thus, pj bottoms on her head.
Then she practiced with a bib.
This was an outfit I made for Ruthie without a real pattern. It turned out super cute but I don’t know if she’ll wear it for long as it fits perfectly now. She turns 18 months on Friday.
So in order to get the outfit done as soon as possible, I used snaps and buttons instead of buttons and button holes. I’ll never do that again as it didn’t take her long to figure out that if she pulls hard enough she’ll be able to pull off the entire top.
Samuel turns 3 months in just a few days.
Here’s Samuel with his bears. He’s just starting to acclimate towards it.
Here is what Ruthie decided to do with the bears and frogs today.

Sprinkler Fun
We went to a friend’s house on Tuesday to have a play date. While we were there we took the girls outside to play in the sprinkler. Ruthie absolutely loved it. She even tinkled on the concrete and took note of what was happening. It didn’t slow her down for long and she was off again. Her straps were too long so I will be shortening those before she plays in the water again. Most of the pictures I have she ended up without her top.
Enjoy!

More pictures
As I said, I would post a few more pictures.
My little model - playing in the curtains.
My sweet boy. He’s smiling so much here lately.
Ruthie was playing with Samuel the other day. She is continuing to be intrigued by him and is thus putting her fingers in his nose, ears, mouth, etc. In this picture, she was putting her finger in his ear. The next picture, she would shaking her hands off as if she had something on them. Each time she would stick her finger in one of his cavities, she would follow it up with shaking of her hands. It was rather cute.
She has recently learned to put the coins into her piggy properly. Yesterday as she was playing she decided she would see what else she could get into her piggy. This time, it was a number magnet from the refrigerator. Today it was a goldfish cracker into an empty water bottle.

As update
as requested….
Things have been crazy around here lately. For starters, we’ve had the house painted in preparation to sell it. The painters came last Tuesday to drop off their trailer and started on Thursday, beginning with the exterior of the house. Friday and Saturday they worked on my hallways, kitchen, dining room, and living room. Tuesday they returned and painted the trim around the house as well as my bedroom and bathroom. So with all of that, it meant that the house was completely in uproar. Moving all of the furniture and removing everything off the wall only to put it right back. As a result of going through this, i have determined that it isn’t feasible (or at least I’m not ready) to remodel and add on to this house with two small children. Wash, dishes, and dinner all got put on hold. Bills were put aside and we collapsed in bed each night exhausted.
During the painting week, Ruthie put her hand in wet paint and subsequently got it on a new outfit, ate some paint, and threw many a fit when she couldn’t go “ousye” (outside).
The house hunting is still on but is currently in limbo as we continue to ready our house. I get daily updates from the realtor about the homes in our area that are for sale as well as the 2 areas of which we are considering. I really am anxious to start looking seriously but I know we can’t go there until we get this house on the market. Next on the list for this house is an updated kitchen. Hopefully in a few weeks we’ll have that done and then I can put the house up.
We went to church as a family this past week for the first time since Samuel’s birth, other than his dedication. It went really well and there weren’t any squabbles. The only problem is that Ruthie now has a cold which I’m almost positive is a result of the nursery. I would love to think that it is related to teething but I still can’t see any teeth trying to erupt.
Last week we also made a trip down to Greenville for dinner on Friday night (about an hour away) to see some family that were in town. While it was nice to see family it was difficult to do. Both babies cried the entire way home. It sure makes one think about second guessing whether or not to do that one again.
As a result of the painting, the wash got backed up and so Wednesday I spent the day trying to catch up. I decided I would wash some decorative towels that I’ve had in my bathroom that were quite dusty. I threw them in with the load of baby clothes as there wouldn’t be anything harsh to both the trim on the towels. Upon swapping the wash, I noticed I had red spots on many of the items and the towels were ruined. Spotted and the trim was demolished. They found a new home in the trash can. I then proceeded to wash the pieces that were now spotted 2 more times in effort of getting the spots out - to no avail. I don’t think I’ve made too many washing mistakes like this but this was a doozy. Frustrating to say the least.
In addition to all of that, Sunday morning I was doing my hair and pulled something in my neck/back. I spent the day miserable. I saw a friend’s husband who’s a chiropractor later that afternoon so he could do some pressure point massage to get me through until the next day when I could get to my dr. So as a result, I’m going to the chiropractor now 3 days a week. I’m still dealing with some stiffness and pain but it isn’t nearly what it was on Sunday. I expect next week to be another 3 days of appts. as well which means Joel has to leave work on time each day, dinner may or may not get made and nighttime routine is crazy!
On a good note, Samuel seems to be spreading out his night time feedings a little more which means I’m getting a little bit more sleep. We are getting up about 1-2 times a night now. I still try to get a nap in the afternoons on occasion but it doesn’t happen much. Usually when I get Ruthie down for her nap, Samuel will wake up needing to eat and wanting to play. It makes for some nice quiet one on one time with him but I still crave my naps. its a double edged sword.
So I think that takes care of it for now. I’ll try to edit a few more pictures later today as I’m able. I have to help a friend fix her toilet later this morning.
