Alabama Tracks

We’ve begun our search for a larger home as of this past week.  As such, we also have started the process of preparing the house to sell.  It isn’t going as quickly as I’d like but we are making progress each day.  I have a few homes in mind that I’d like to look at but seeing that we have to sell our house first we have some time.

The kids have kept me busy both day and night.  I’m starting to get a little bit more sleep each night but its a slow go.  The longest stretch of sleep thus far is 4 hours but I’ve had a total of 7 hrs one night.  It was heavenly.

We painted the shutters and front door of the house this past weekend and it felt great knowing that life does eventually return when you have more than one child.  Naps won’t always be essential just to make it through the day.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.  Ruthie had to help us pick out the colors.

The other day I was out planting some flowers on the side of the house.  Ruthie decided she wanted to help.  Thankfully she didn’t get into the traveling fire ants that I did that afternoon.  I ended the day with about 25 ant bites on one foot.

A few days ago, I shot this one of Samuel.

We have to watch carefully when we put Samuel down on Ruthie’s level.  This day, she was all into her brother and wanted to make sure his every need was taken care of.

Just pure cuteness of Ruthie.

Yesterday I took both cats to the vet for their annual visits.  Upon returning, Ruthie decided that she too had to check out their travel bags.

He started smiling for me today and knew he was doing it.  Daddy grabbed the camera just in time.  He stopped smiling shortly after this picture was taken.

She was being so sweet to her brother.  I’m so glad we were able to catch it.

She wanted to hold brother.  Can you see the pained look on his face?

We went to a friend’s house on Saturday and had lunch and play time.

Her latest trick while outside with daddy is to pull apart my roses.

And lest daddy suggest she do something she doesn’t want to…..

She wore a bubble suit today for the first time in a long time - and a bow to boot.  Uber cute!

So tonight I had a thought about the fact that she doesn’t want to sit in her highchair and eat.  So on a whim I pulled out the booster seat.   Low and Behold!  My baby is growing up and it actually worked.  She ate more dinner!

And here is my sweet little girl eating like a cat/dog.  Why, is beyond me.  Thank goodness it doesn’t happen all the time anymore.

I was chastised for not having current pictures up.  So here are a few among a few notables….

*  Samuel went to the doctor for his 1 month well baby appt. on Wednesday.  He weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 3oz!!!

*  Ruthie is now saying “Baa”  for Ball.  She looks out the back door to the ball in the dog’s yard (the neighbor’s yard) saying it over and over again.

*  She loves the yarn peeps that Momga made for her.  They have begun to be an easy distraction for her while I nurse brother.

We started eating raisins this week.  You can see what happens to them…. (note the box and the table)

This is what happens to goldfish on occasion - after I have already vacuumed, of course.

These are the “peeps” that Momga made for Ruthie.  She knew immediately upon opening the box that the bag was for her.

Samuel is going to be my thumb sucker… something that Ruthie never did.
